I’m a kiwi who has left a piece of my heart in every place I have visited and lived around the world. Travelling, exploring, and being active or still, amongst nature makes my heart sing. What makes your heart sing? Mountain tops, sun drenched beaches, sunrises and sunsets, magical forests, snow covered terrain, crystal clear lakes, historic cities, charming villages, cascading waterfalls, golden deserts, cobbled streets, colourful cultures, endless oceans – all of this is what my heart yearns for. The more places I visit, the longer my list gets of places I want to explore! I also have a love for music, dancing, learning, curling up on the couch with a good book, meaningful conversations, lots of laughter, and quality time spent with family and friends. I am also known for being incredibly organised, efficient and driven. I've always been active, mainly as a dancer for many years, but it was only in 2014 that my true passion for wellness - yoga, nutrition, health & fitness - found me. I had battled many demons over the years, including deep depression and self-hate. My journey to self-discovery includes my time as the teacher’s pet being badly bullied at school, having a difficult life at home with an alcoholic father, then I found temporary happiness being a party girl with constant late nights clubbing (or should I say early mornings), hot pants, knee high boots and glow sticks! I then packed my bags and travelled the world, always looking for something to make me feel complete, loved, fulfilled, wanted, happy….. We usually have to reach a point of ultimate darkness to be ready to give ourselves up to the light. It was a gradual process for me and bit by bit the puzzle pieces came together. I have learned that happiness is an inside job. I’ve learnt to love myself to accept all lessons in life, as well giving up judgement of myself and others. I wouldn’t say that I have mastered this ability, but I have come a long way and I can now recognise harmful thoughts before they consume me. The more stillness and meditation I allow myself, and the more I listen to my thoughts and focus on remaining present in each moment, the more I can hear my intuition and be guided towards the greater good. I’ve progressed from playing the victim and being overwhelmed by drama and negativity, to asking the universe how I can serve – how can I give back? That’s when the path I am now on opened up to me. My love for Yoga, Pilates, Fitness, Meditation and Mindfulness has changed my life. I can now say that I honestly love myself and my life. My default mindset is now one of gratitude, compassion and faith. I've learnt enough about rewiring the brain that I now know how to help others on their internal journeys. I released fear and jumped into the unknown by starting up my own business – Explore Discover - first as a Yoga & PT Studio in Melbourne, and now in the Gold Coast running Retreats and Events, as well as a You Tube Channel. I am so grateful that you have found me! MY MISSION & DISCLAIMER I am a Movement and Mindset Coach and I have created my Explore Dicover Instagram and Facebook pages, and the Explore Discover Youtube channel, to offer my services and knowledge on a platform that it is accessible for everyone. This is my passion project. My mission as a Movement Coach is to help guide you through nourishing movement that is accessible for all ages and abilities, through a series of Yoga, Pilates, Strength & Mobility sequences. I believe each modality is one piece of the overall puzzle and they all compliment each other really well. Movement helps release energetic blockages in the body, and the more we move in a nourishing way, the more our quality of life improves, mental health improves, and we create longevity in our lives. It’s a life long commitment so its important to find a type of movement that is right for you and that you enjoy. When we lose range of motion, strength and fitness, our lives become overrun with aches and pains and our world gets smaller when we become more limited in what we can and can’t do. Movement is medicine. I focus on postural strength, alignment, balance, coordination, range of motion, stability and controlled and flowing intuitive movement. In Yoga we also incorporate the core philosophy’s and principles of Yoga which is mainly mindfulness techniques, and sometimes I link in to the Chakras which are energy centres that govern our body as well. However, as important as the body is, our mind is what controls our reality, therefore it needs just as much investment, if not more, than the body! As a Mindset Coach, I will help guide you to how to become present and enjoy the NOW, how to release limiting beliefs, and how to find your inner light, peace, joy and purpose. I will teach you the power of the mind and how you can use your thoughts and mindset to create the life of your dreams. By healing your inner world, you heal the outer world as well and the more light we bring to darkness in the world, the more love and compassion that we have, the more this world becomes a better place for ourselves, and for our children, and their children. I love to focus on the mind body soul connection, and unlearning all of the junk that no longer serves us. When you become aware of your thoughts, you then have the opportunity to take back control of what you actually believe, the decisions you make, the reactions you have, and emotions you experience – instead of operating from your automatic programming that has been built over your lifetime. When you put in the effort to rewire your brain, you learn how to process emotions as well, to prevent storing them in the body, which decreases the manifestations of physical pain and dis-ease. The spiritual journey is where we explore and discover who we are, who we want to be, why we are here, and what this human experience is all about.
